Personally, it’s been a strange year, sure it had the same amount of months as 2014 but for some reason and I think it may simply be my age, but boy its gone a lot quicker!!!
Was it the fact that I dived deep into my 40′s this year (41), was it the wedding planning (got married to my beautiful bride in August), the many trips to Wales to see my ill dad or simply being MD of a recruitment business keeping me busy? I’m not sure which one sped up the hands of time but something definitely did!
From a business perspective 2015 has been a good year. We’ve performed well against our plans and finished the year profitable with an increase in performance from 2014 but equally as important, we’ve a stronger team in place to make 2016 even better.
Our Leeds office is bigger and stronger than ever before with some great business wins coming as a result of a lot of hard work with some exciting plans on the horizon too. Combine this with our growing Edinburgh team, some great news goals for the year and some innovation in the pipeline and we’re all excited for what 2016 may hold.
Our main aim is to grow and scale our business with all the exciting challenge that this will bring but whilst always retaining the qualities and values that have made us successful to this point. We don’t want to be the biggest recruitment business in the world, we simply want to be the best that we can be, a quality business, with excellent staff, a great mix of clients, access to the best candidates, providing a variety of value add services, with strong processes and good governance, it just so happens we do recruitment and do it well.
Yes there will be challenges ahead and we’d be foolish to think things will be plain sailing however I sit here on the brink of 2016 and am hugely proud of the efforts of our people and am confident that with some hard work and excellent customer service we can continue to differentiate from the norm and go from strength to strength.
Goodbye 2015, you’re confined to history and you shall be remembered for me as the year that brought more happiness and laughter than tears, more positive interactions than negative and hope that the future is bright even in a tough marketplace if you retain and live by the values that you believe in.
Happy New Year all.
