Our large Financial Services client is recruiting for a Senior Storage Engineer to join their existing team. The role will be for an initial 6 month contract, Inside IR35 with a rate up to £442 per day to the umbrella company. It is expected that it will be mostly remotely based (from the UK) with infrequent time in the office.
You will join the team who manage Open Systems Storage (VMware, Windows, Rhel etc) estate for the organisation. This includes day to day BAU work (upgrades, patching, storage allocations, backups) and incident support. Within the team there are 2 main core functions, Storage & Backup and we also look after the banks San Infrastructure.
What you'll be doing
* Daily infrastructure checks and responding accordingly.
* Storage Provisioning and allocation.
* Backup and restore tasks
* Infrastructure Upgrades
We need you to have
- A demonstrable background in a similar role, ideally within a financial service environment.
* A sound understanding of the principles of resilience and operability in an enterprise storage environment.
* Great experience of planning, preparing and delivering objectives.
* A desire and aptitude to continually grow your own knowledge and skills, and help others do the same.
* A broad understanding of surrounding IT infrastructure: hardware, networking, data.
* An aptitude to quickly assimilate and understand complexity under pressure to diagnose and re-mediate technical issues.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.
