As a team of 15 from Head Resourcing we took part in the Pretty Muddy race at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston over the weekend. Dressed in pink with an array of colourful tutus we walked, jogged, ran, crawled, climbed and bounced around the 5km muddy course. There were 8 obstacles to tackle, most of which involved mud and lots of it too. Through tears of laughter and a few mouthfuls of mud we completed the course where we were presented with a medal and some much needed water! The shower would have to wait though.
We crossed the finish line as a team and in doing so smashed our target of £1,500. We raised a total of £2,500 for Cancer Research UK which was an amazing contribution to the £200,000 raised on the day itself.
Cancer Research UK helps to fund life-saving research into the causes, prevention and treatment of cancer. For every £1 donated to Cancer Research UK, 80p is used to beat cancer. With no government funding for their research, it’s only thanks to generous donations that they have helped to double cancer survival rates in just 40 years.
