Why Manchester – The Real Reason

View above is from our new Manchester office!

As some of you will be aware, Head Resourcing has opened a new office smack bang in the middle of Manchester’s City Centre (https://blog.headresourcing.com/manchester/).

Our entire company is really excited about this, but I am probably more excited than most. Why you ask? Well, I am delighted to share that I will be part of the Manchester team. As of 14th March, I will be working in our Manchester office 3 days’ a week and our Edinburgh office 2 days.

I joined Head Resourcing over 7 years’ ago, as a university graduate from Ullapool in the Highlands, and like most graduates, I really didn’t have any idea of what the city business sector was really like. My colleagues still like to mock remind me of those days. Establishing myself in a professional environment was a huge challenge. Well, that and trying to build a new social circle with Edinburgh rent and George Street drinks prices to contend with. Looking back, I’ve enjoyed every minute.

The reason for the long-winded backstory is that when I was approached about the opportunity in Manchester, it was a no-brainer. As well as my personal development, Head Resourcing, which is now part of the Taranata Group, has grown from circa 40 staff to well over 120 in just 7 years. This is something I am extremely proud to be part of and shows what a great service we provide across multiple sectors and specialist areas.

Growing our business in England was always the natural progression. We have established an excellent brand in Scotland with an unrivalled reputation, a phenomenal team, and a wealth of clients and candidates that we are truly proud to be working with. This is no fluke. It has all been down to our values and hard work which set us apart. We have an excellent blueprint that we can roll out in any location, and we know it works. The messages we’ve received already after our announcement on Manchester from both clients and candidates back this up. They have all said if we continue to do what we do, ‘we’ll stand out and be a great addition to an exciting North-West sector’.

There are a number of reasons why I am very excited about this opportunity. Working with our Regional Director, Jon Musgrave, a colleague with over 20 years’ experience will be extremely valuable. Getting the chance (as cheesy as it sounds) to promote the Head Resourcing brand is something I love doing. Every member of the Head Resourcing team really gives a-monkeys about what we do here. I want to show that to new clients and candidates in the Manchester area. But the final reason that I haven’t told our MD yet, is that I really can’t wait to take in some premier league football. Watching Scottish football can be incredibly painful, so a trip to Old Trafford or the Etihad will be a welcome relief.

If you are in the Manchester area and would like to hear more, drop me a note. I’d love to grab a coffee, lunch or beer sometime.
