Head Resourcing is recruiting for a backend developer for a company based in Glasgow. The Backend developer will report into the Head of IT Development and be focussed on the maintenance and development of web application integrations including the configuration and development of bespoke user applications. The position involves working on a range of integration projects within the business whilst working with analysts and project management as part of project teams on key projects.
This role is based in Glasgow 2 days per week. Pays between £50 - £58k and a 10% employer pension. This role does not offer sponsorship.
Job Responsibilities
Maintain and develop new web APIs between our policy administration system and third party applications and web applications including CRM
Create and maintain software documentation related to web integrations
Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
Collaborate with front end developers and wider business project teams
Develop automated test solutions for third party applications
Data manipulation and analysis using SQL and Oracle tools and writing/maintaining stored procedures
Development and maintenance of SSIS packages
Problem solve and debug SSIS/SQL issues
Knowledge, Skills & Core Competencies Required
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Proficient in Java, JavaScript, JSON, T-SQL and PL-SQL
Proficient in REST and SOAP APIs including endpoints and the Spring framework
Advanced skills in SSIS and XML, XSL and Python desirable
Experience of working in an Agile development environment
Experience of utilising GitHub, Bitbucket and Jenkins
Experience of using Spring Boot and Postman Values
